Europe hammer USA 11-2 in 2013 Mosconi Cup.

Europe thrash USA to defend Mosconi Cup crown.

jpp_mcxx_day3_04-Team-Europe2Europe defended their Mosconi Cup title with a crushing 11-2 victory over the USA in Las Vegas.

Having already held a commanding 8-2 lead heading into the third day, Europe did not drop a game on the final day with pair Niels Feijen and Mika Immonen securing victory for the side.

The European pair defeated American double Dennis Hatch and Rodney Morris 6-2 in the final frame after the side had already won the first two games of the day.

Darren Appleton and Ralf Souquet  beat Hatch and Earl Strickland 6-3, whilst Karl Boyes 6-4 win over Strickland took Europe to within one point of regaining the title.

Immonen and Feijen – who would later be named MVP of the tournament – duly obliged and finished off the job in the next frame to secure Europe’s sixth win in the competition in the last seven years.
